Okay, the very first question I ask myself was “Am I ready to step up and take more responsibility?” The answer is a NO. Be frank, during the last three years, I worked as a short-term planning engineer, a drill and blast engineer and a production engineer. But before I step up and become a senior mining engineer, I think I should have further experience in long-term planning and designing fields. The process might take up to two years from now. Yes, it is right to say that I would never to be ready and become a senior engineer before I am actually working as one. But higher position comes with greater responsibility. I really do NOT think I am that ready to supervise two or three mining engineers working under me and coordinate the site based production and design. I am glad to hear someone/a company wants to interview me for the position. But NO, I am not going to take the opportunity this time.
